These Terms of Use (the "Terms") govern access to and use of the Sola Journal website and newsletter. Sola Journal is operated by Yoko Shiina (Sola Studio) ("Sola Journal," "we," "us," or "our").

By accessing or using Sola Journal, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the website or newsletter.

1. About Sola Journal

Sola Journal is an independent publication featuring articles, observations, visual material, and other editorial or creative work. It may also present or link to work originally published through third-party platforms, including Medium and note.

The website is currently provided without reader accounts, paid subscriptions, comments, or purchasing functions. The Sola Journal email newsletter is optional and free to subscribe to.

2. Content and Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise stated, the articles, text, images, illustrations, design elements, branding, and other original material published directly by Sola Journal are owned by Yoko Shiina or used with permission. Material originating from a third party remains subject to the rights of its respective owner.

You may access and read Sola Journal for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may also share links to publicly available Sola Journal pages.

Except as permitted by applicable law or with prior written permission, you may not reproduce, republish, distribute, sell, license, alter, or commercially exploit Sola Journal content. Quotation is permitted only to the extent allowed by applicable law and should include appropriate attribution and a link to the original page where reasonably possible.

Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of any intellectual property to you.

3. Acceptable Use

• use Sola Journal in violation of applicable law or the rights of another person;

4. Newsletter

You may subscribe to receive new writing and occasional updates from Sola Journal. Newsletter timing and frequency are not fixed.

You may unsubscribe at any time using the link included in a newsletter. Subject to any mandatory rights or jurisdiction rules that apply under applicable law, the Tokyo District Court or Tokyo Summary Court will have exclusive jurisdiction as the court of first instance over disputes arising from or relating to Sola Journal or these Terms.
